Jozie city tour – Through the lens

So last weekend I had a chance to enjoy a historical walking tour of Jozie lead by the peeps (Jo & co) @ Past Experiences, wiew website HERE.

The purpose of this tour was to look back in history and view jozie from it’s early days by viewing old images in a booklet provided by “past experiences”

and walking to some of those old buildings that are still around… It is not only enlightening but a fun day out. The tour leader was Tania, she

gave us some additional background and info! There were about 3o or so of us that pitched and off we went, the tour is ended off with a complimentary

drink at the 120 year old (or more) Guildhall. Below are some images i managed to capture with my old Canon AE1 35mm film camera with 28mm Fd lens

given to me as a gift from my good old buddy Giovanni. Thanks bro! This was one of the first canon film camera’s

to come out with electronics CPU starting in 1976… Check it out below!!!

to their shoot. They have an awesome connection and we were so priveledged to capture some of that before their big day! We cant wait for their wedding,

going by yesterdays shoot, I think it’s going to be a blast!

An afternoon in Jozie – 07.04.11

So I have been wanting to do a short movie for some time now, so this afternoon i decided to take a crack at it. Jumped on the Vespa with 5DmkII in tow and headed out.

This clip was shot edited and posted today within about 4 hours. It shows us that life is really difficult just around the corner… We must be happy with what we have!
At the same time people can be happy even when they have very little and their circumstances are difficult…

The style is off the hip, raw and very real…

We’ve started the new year off with determination to perfect our lighting, managed to get two great models and Avianto for the Day, and practiced a few techniques.

A few hours later, some frustration and some beads of sweat, we managed to come up with these few images.

Hi all, so we have been tacking some time lately to practice a few techniques with our lighting.

We tried this set at our last wedding and found it quite pleasing, almost like a painting.

All images were: f11, ISO 320, 1/320 sec @ 14mm + (some slight p/shop work) - Hope you like!
